Daddy Don't Live in that New York City No More

Take a look at my Daily Photo

Was there ever any doubt?

Now all we need is for the 'Stros to fall. I know Clemens is pitching but if the Cards can get to him early and often, they can win. I still think they will. Stay tuned...

I'm really happy to see the Sox win. Maybe the 'choke gods' have moved from Philly to NYC. Time will tell. I want so bad to be excited about the Eagles! Donna

Mark - PLEASE tell me tongue was firmly implanted in cheek with the "any doubt" remark! The Sox players said the same thing after the game, and they looked like asses - like a certain pinstriped #13 looked the night before.

I was rooting against them, but the Bosox looked awesome! They were truly the better team. One has to wonder, though, if they spent everything they had to get to the WS. For their sake, I hope not.

BTW, I will wear my Yankees cap with pride today, unlike the millions of bandwagon jumpers (not you!) who will rush out to Modell's to get their Bosox apparel this morning.

Also, how funny will it be if both Larry Brown AND Terry Francona win world championships this year?

LOL, Shawn...funny and not surprising. But Philly fans will suck it up, then eat some more cheesesteaks and soft pretzels in their bid to win back their only title in recent memory, "Fattest City in America".
But I won't give up hope. I swore I would after the Smarty Jones heartbreak. But, GO EAGLES!!!

Shawn- Sunday morning I was trying to figure out what I would watch instead of the World Series. I went into each of those last 4 games reminding myself not to get my hopes up. I'd like to think that even if they lost game 7 I would be happy for the great series, but I know that's not true. I would have been pissy for a week. I think both teams spent all their energy this series, but it looks like the NL teams will be tired too. And I've got nothing but good feelings about Tito. The man has the smallest ego in sports. Larry Brown's another story.

As for number 13, does anyone else foresee a Kobe/Shaq-like fued between Jeter and A-Rod brewing?

By the way, I've had the title of this post (a Steely Dan song) in my head since before the series started. It would have been more appropriate to use if Pedro had pitched well enough to shut the NY crowd up but let's face it, the Yankees had been the whole Sox organization's Daddy.

Pedro looked like a shot pitcher last night. Couldn't believe that Tito brought him in.

Mark, I thought you would have had the picture of Castro tripping. I didn't see the news today did Bush take credit for the fall of Castro?
